Agency Monthly Newsletter -

With grand opening ceremonies already held in Orland in June and Willows in July, the Market has opened to rave reviews and the fun will continue every Saturday morning through the end of September 2010 and begin again in June of 2011. Waste Tire Products Research & Development (WTP) is located in Orland California and owned by William Tasto. For 12 years the company has been a California permitted tire collector and a silage
covering business. In 2003 WTP began manufacturing tire derived products for the do-it yourself home owner. For more information on this and other things the Agency is working on please click here July 2010

A new Geographic Information System (GIS) for tracking traffic incidents is the result of a $35,000 grant to the Glenn County Planning & Public Works Agency from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The addition of this system will allow the Engineering Division of the Planning & Public Works Agency the ability to pinpoint Glenn County’s high-incident collision locations and analyze the traffic patterns in these areas. Largest Olive Mill In North America Under Construction In Glenn County, Meetings now available for Listening Live Online, Road Department Happenings, Unmet Transit Needs, NEW GIS software to collect, track and provide upgraded traffic accident reporting capabilities, Glenn County participates in California State Fair and local Glenn County Fair, circulator bus routes and Permit Center statistics. Facilities News -

  • County/City Joint Efforts pay off - It was quite a year for the County Facilities Division staff assisted by the City of Willows Public Works staff at keeping the birds out of the Memorial Park this past nesting season. Bobbé Lewis, Facilities Manager, is proud to report that they won the battle against the birds. “We aren’t really sure which of the SCARE tactics was the “driving force” at keeping the birds away this year, but we did not stop any of them to find out.” To read the whole article click here.
