NEW SYSTEM TO TRACK TRAFFIC CRASHES - A new Geographic Information System (GIS) for tracking traffic incidences is the result of a $35,000 grant to the Glenn County Planning & Public Works Agency from the California Office of Traffic Safety. GIS is a computerized system which collects, analyzes, and presents data that is linked to specific locations. To view the news release click here.

$916,659 ARRA Grant Awarded to PPWA - Through the Community Development Block Grant Recovery Program and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Glenn County is pleased to announce the award of a grant in the amount of $916,659 to continue restoration and construction of storm drain infrastructure, curb and gutter in Hamilton City. This grant will fund new storm drain infrastructure on 4th Street between Main Street and Capay Avenue and on Capay Avenue between 4th and 5th Street. It also includes funding for the installation of curbs and gutters in the area between Highway 45, Highway 32, Walsh Avenue and 5th Street. This grant will assist the County’s continued effort to improve storm water drainage infrastructure in order to reduce standing water hazards in Hamilton City, and reduce the costs associated with mosquito abatement and the threat of West Nile Virus.
